Hip Hop & I Don’t Stop
I love summer in Brooklyn. Not only do people totally vacate the city every weekend for beachier destinations like The Hamptons and Fire Island (meaning there’s plenty of Friday and Saturday night seating at awesome restaurants), but also the Hippity Hoppers come out in droves with unbelievable shows.
So far we have tickets to Rock the Bells at Governor’s Island and the Brooklyn Bodega Hip Hop Festival & Family event under the Brooklyn Bridge. Plus! There’s a $3 Celebrate Brooklyn show in July featuring Raekwon, Smif-N-Wessun, Joell Ortiz, Skyzoo, Neek the Exotic & Large Professor, and more!
Last year we saw The Roots, Talib Kweli, Nice & Smooth at Celebrate Brooklyn, De La Soul, Black Sheep, Nice & Smooth (again), Cold Crush Crew, Pete Rock and about 20 other acts at Brooklyn Bodega and an unbelievable line up including A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang (all of ‘em, including ODB’s son as a stand in for his dead dad) and the undeniable Snoop D-O-double-Gizzy.
This year’s Rock the Bells lineup is just as sick, I mean. Just look at that. How insane? So, any New Yorkers out there who wanna hit up some brilliant shows, holla at me. We’re rounding up a posse for all of ‘em and I can not wait!
