Learning lessons all over the place … kind of

When you’re friends on Facebook with someone from high school who uses something like this for a profile picture:

Hmmm ... Looks like a pyramid to me.

"Hmmm ... Looks like a pyramid to me."

And they post a status update that reads:

I just want one friend from highschool, or at any point in my life who wants more, desires more, dreams of more, and has a work ethic to message me. I’m very serious about this. I bet no one has to guts….to do it an work hard with me! Do it if you dare!!!!!

Don’t engage with them. Not even a joke like: Are you asking us to join the Army?

Because when you do, you will end up getting a private message like this:

Wow, to be honest Susan…I didn’t expect you to message me, but I’m looking for somebody who will help me spread the word about a 90 challange to loose 30 pounds…the company is giving away up to $10,000,000.00 in cash, prizes and give aways for people doing the challange….I’ve lost 25 pounds in six weeks. There is a chance to make some extra cash, I’ll make around $500.00 this month, plus a car bonus program. If your interested, I can’t make any promises other thna I will work my butt off to help you, if you are!..

And you will then have to respond with something like:
